FOR ONLINE STORES
The follow-up arrives while they still want it.
A shopper who stops at checkout, or asks when something is back, has told you what they want. A WhatsApp message at that moment is easy to reply to.

IN PRACTICE
Repeat product views from a known customer are a strong signal, but they’re easy to over-use. The right approach is one helpful message with a useful detail about the product, not a sales push. It works best for considered purchases where people have questions about fit, size or suitability.
THE JOURNEY
How it runs.
- Starts when
- A product-view event for a known, consented customer arrives through Zapier or a Google Sheet, with no add-to-cart after your chosen window.
- Stops when
- Purchase, add-to-cart, reply, opt-out, or one message sent.
- Wait Leave a few hours so the message doesn’t feel like surveillance.
- Check Skip customers who bought, added to cart or received a message recently.
- Send A soft message: a helpful detail about the product and an invitation to ask.
- Stop One message only. If they reply, your team takes over.

One message only.
A teammate answers. Product questions are the most common replies.
Nothing more is sent. The journey ends after one message.
The contact leaves the journey straight away and is excluded from future marketing messages.
Mistakes to avoid
- Mentioning how many times someone viewed a product.
- Sending to anonymous visitors: you need a known, consented contact.
- Using it for low-value items where a question is unlikely.
A returning customer views the same pair of boots three times this week but never adds them to the cart.
Repeat views show strong interest, but without a cart there’s usually no follow-up at all.
- Customer first name
- WhatsApp number
- Product viewed
- Product link
- Marketing consent
- Customers entering the journey
- Reply rate
- Add-to-carts and orders after the message
- Opt-outs
- Keep the tone helpful; never mention how many times they looked.
- One message is enough.
- Exclude recent buyers so you don’t pitch what they already own.
- Mention a relevant review or product detail instead of a discount.
- Pair with back-in-stock when the viewed size is unavailable.
- Use only for high-consideration products.

Questions.
Isn’t this intrusive?
It can be if overused. Keep it to one helpful message for customers who agreed to hear from you.
Where do product-view events come from?
From a tool that tracks product views for known customers and can pass them to Zapier or a Google Sheet. ConvoHut’s native Shopify triggers don’t include product views.
Who owns the number and the data?
You do. ConvoHut connects to your own WhatsApp Business Account, and Meta bills messages to you with no ConvoHut markup.
