No provider can guarantee Meta’s approvals or timings. If anyone promises you a verified badge or an unlimited number overnight, be careful.

A phone number you control

It must receive a text or call. Mobile, landline or toll-free all work. Short codes don’t.

The number not on WhatsApp

If it’s on the WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app, delete that account first. ConvoHut doesn’t support using the app and ConvoHut on the same number.

New number, or your existing one?

Use a new or spare number (simplest)

Keep your current WhatsApp app number for day-to-day chats and connect a separate number to ConvoHut. Nothing to delete, no history lost.

Move your existing number

Customers already know it, but the WhatsApp account on it must be deleted first, and its chat history does not move across. ConvoHut starts with an empty inbox.

  1. Back up and export the chats you need: open a chat, then Export chat.
  2. Open WhatsApp, then Settings (Android: the three dots, then Settings).
  3. Tap Account, then Delete account.
  4. Enter the number in full international format and confirm.
  5. Wait at least three minutes, then start the connection in ConvoHut.

Deleting removes the account, its groups and its backups. Uninstalling the app is not enough.

    Start in ConvoHut

    Log in at dashboard.convohut.com and start the WhatsApp connection. ConvoHut opens Meta’s secure signup window. Allow pop-ups for the site if your browser blocks it.

    • Use a desktop browser.
    • Log in to Facebook first, with the personal account that is (or will be) an admin of your business on Meta.
  2. 02

    Log in with Facebook

    Meta asks you to log in, or shows “Continue as” with your name if you’re already logged in.

    • Use the Facebook account that manages your business, not a shared or brand-new account.
    • Meta may ask you to turn on two-factor authentication for your Facebook account.

    Review what ConvoHut can access

    Meta explains that ConvoHut is requesting access to create or manage your WhatsApp Business account and send messages on your behalf.

    • Read it, then continue. You can remove ConvoHut’s access later in Meta’s Business Settings.

    Choose or create your business portfolio

    Pick your existing Meta business portfolio (the one you use for ads, if you have one), or create a new one.

    • Enter your legal or trading name exactly as it appears on your registration documents. It must match later business verification.
    • Use a working website on HTTPS that shows your business name.
    • Choose the country where your business is registered.

    Create a WhatsApp Business account

    • Don’t pick a WhatsApp Business account that another provider created. Create a new one for ConvoHut.

    Set up your WhatsApp Business profile

    Enter the display name customers will see, your category and a short description.

    • The WhatsApp Business account name is internal. The display name is what customers see.
    • Use your real brand name, written exactly as on your website. No slogans, emojis, “Official” or “WhatsApp”.
    • Pick the most accurate category. You can change it later.

    Add your phone number

    Choose “Add a new number”, enter your number and pick how to receive the code.

    • Don’t choose “Use a display name only”. That gives you a US test-style number that can’t be moved later.
    • The number can’t be active on WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. Delete that account first (see above).
    • Landline or a number behind a phone menu? Choose Phone call.

Two things to do in Meta.

  1. 11

    Add a payment method in WhatsApp Manager

    Meta bills message charges to you, so it needs your card. Until you add one, charged messages fail.

    • In Meta Business Suite, go to WhatsApp Manager, then Overview, then Add payment method.
    • Choose your business country and currency carefully. Treat the currency as permanent: it can’t be changed once a card is added.
    • Make sure the card is set as the default.

    Verify your business (recommended)

    Business verification isn’t needed to start, but it lifts your limits and is required for the verified badge.

    • Business Settings, then Security Center, then Start verification.
    • Upload two or three documents showing your legal name, address and phone number, such as an ABN or ASIC extract, a utility bill or a bank statement in the business name.
    • The name, address and phone must match what you entered. Meta can take a few days to two weeks.

FAQ

Activation questions.

Can I keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number?

Not with ConvoHut. Meta offers a feature called coexistence for some providers, but ConvoHut doesn’t support it. Use a separate number, or move your number across and use ConvoHut’s shared inbox instead of the app.

Will my old chats move to ConvoHut?

No. Chat history from the WhatsApp app doesn’t transfer. Export the chats you need before you delete the app account.

Do I need business verification before I start?

No. You can connect and start messaging within the starting limit. Verification raises your limits and is required for the verified badge.

Who owns the WhatsApp Business account?

You do. It sits in your Meta business portfolio, and Meta bills you directly. You can remove ConvoHut’s access at any time.

Can I use a landline or 1300 number?

Yes, if it can receive Meta’s verification call. Choose Phone call when verifying.

What is the two-step verification PIN?

A six-digit PIN that protects your number’s registration. ConvoHut sets it during registration and can share it with you. You’ll need it to move the number to another provider.

Can I get the green or blue tick?

Meta awards the verified badge. You can request it once you meet Meta’s requirements. We can help you prepare, but no provider can guarantee it.
